LitRPG Con Code of Conduct
At the LitRPG Convention (“LitRPG Con”), the safety and wellbeing of our staff, speakers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees is our top priority. When we work together to foster a kind and supportive convention community, it creates a more positive experience for everyone. As an attendee of LitRPG Con, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct during the entirety of con:
1. LitRPG Con badges must be worn in all designated con spaces at all times. If you lose your badge, you will have to get a new one from registration. Please note that children under four are in “tutorial mode,” and are not required to have their own badges.
2. Security will check attendees for badges, and may implement additional safeguarding measures, including:
· Physical screening/bag checks
· Monitored and recorded security surveillance/CCTV
· Crowd management/stewards, signage, and barriers, as necessary
3. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
4. Badges are non-transferable — you may not give or sell your badge to someone else.
5. Please be aware of and respect the personal boundaries of your fellow attendees so that everyone can enjoy their time at LitRPG Con. LitRPG Con will not tolerate harassment of any kind, including, but not limited to:
· Physical or verbal threats/intimidation
· Stalking
· Physical assault and/or battery
· Non-consensual photography or recording
· Bathroom policing
· Unwelcome physical contact or attention
· Sexually explicit, suggestive and/or provocative behavior or signage
· Use of hate symbols and/or discriminatory language
· Disruption of organized events
If someone’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, or if you witness harassment happening to someone else, you should immediately contact event staff or security. If necessary, security or event staff will contact local law enforcement, provide protection, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment.
6. Possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 years of age will lead to removal from LitRPG Con without a refund.
7. LitRPG Con strictly prohibits the carrying or use of functioning weapons. Further, it is recommended attendees store any props that could cause public alarm in a bag or storage container while traveling to and from the event. By following these rules, you can help keep LitRPG Con safe and secure. Let’s be the heroes the con deserves.
8. Real firearms are not allowed at LitRPG Con, regardless of any permits held by an attendee. We reserve the right to expel attendees who do not adhere to this policy from the convention.
9. LitRPG Con is an inclusive environment and welcomes all cosplayers. However, the rules below must be followed at all times. If you do not observe these costume guidelines, you will be asked to change. If this request is ignored, further action will be taken.
· Nudity is not allowed at LitRPG Con, nor is it allowed in the state of Colorado. All attendees are required to completely cover their breasts, genitals, and buttocks. Sheer coverings of these areas, as well as opaque bodysuits that simulate nudity, are not allowed
· Costumes that are deemed to contain words, imagery, or other aspects that are offensive — as outlined by Rule #5 — will not be permitted
· Costumes or props that incorporate chemical special effects and/or pyrotechnics are not allowed
10. Please keep personal property with you at all times, and do not leave any items unattended. LitRPG Con is not responsible for property that is lost, stolen, missing, or damaged during the convention.
11. Please do not disrespect the hotel or convention facilities. You will be held liable for any damage that you cause to the premises. Further, you may not cause damage to the property of another attendee, vendor, sponsor, featured guest, panelist, staff member, or volunteer.
12. Please do not hang signs, flyers, cards, or any other materials on the walls of the hotel and convention facilities unless given explicit authorization by con or hotel staff. If you are found in violation of this rule, you will be issued a warning. If this warning is ignored, further action will be taken.
13. LitRPG Con prohibits the recording of photos, audio, and/or video of any LitRPG Con guest, member, volunteer, employee, or event for commercial use, unless you have been explicitly granted permission by con staff.
14. No drones or similar devices may be used in any capacity at LitRPG Con.
15. Please be prepared for the possibility that we’ll share images or recordings in which you are featured across our LitRPG Con social media accounts and associated platforms. Financial compensation is not offered for this content.
16. Spaces used for panels, workshops, and other events will be cleared between all activities. Please adhere to the following rules when attending all LitRPG Con events:
· Please obey all LitRPG Con staff and volunteers, as well as hotel staff, when forming lines
· If you are queuing in an unofficial line — i.e., a line not sanctioned by event staff or volunteers — you will be sent to the back of the official line
· Please refrain from cutting any lines. If you are caught, you will be sent to the back of the line
· For the first panel of the day, which begins at 9:00am, you may line up no earlier than one hour ahead of its start time at 8:00am. For all subsequent panels, you may line up once attendees of the previous panel have been seated
· Attendees in need of special assistance to enter and be seated at events will be given priority when entering and exiting various event spaces. Please be mindful and respectful of these attendees
17. Speaker appearances and events that appear on the schedule are subject to change or get cancelled. The LitRPG Con System AI will do everything in its power to announce any changes in a timely manner.
18. All free play games must be signed out prior to use and returned after gameplay.
Please keep in mind that if you break any of the above-outlined rules, you may be asked to leave LitRPG Con without receiving a refund; whether or not you are permitted to return will be determined by the con staff and contingent on the severity of the violation(s).
Thank you for reading and adhering to our Code of Conduct. Now let’s enjoy the Con!
